Insurgents relocate to Ndufu as IDPs exposed to hunger, drugs

Report from Rann, Kala Balge local government of Borno state has revealed a Boko Haram hideout at Ndufu village, a border community near Ngala. The insurgents are presently at the border in large number.

Also, selling of illicit drugs in public within the IDPs’ camp in Rann, headquarters of Kala Balge LGA is becoming alarming despite the efforts of relevant stakeholders to stop the illicit sale.

Meanwhile, some of the IDPs are  presently exposed to severe hardship and suffering  due to food scarcity and flood disaster,  which ravaged parts of their camps as a result of upshoot of  River Kaalia from Cameroon Republic.

An NGO worker, Mohammed Sani, told our correspondent that currently, “the IDPs are complaining of food shortage and lack of clothing.”

He added that “even those who cultivated their farmlands are afraid to go for harvesting as a result of the activities of Boko Haram terrorists in the area.

According to him, “most of the IDPs are stranded” and urged government to intervene as there is the need for relevant stakeholders to urgently reach out to the IDPs in Rann to salvage the situation.
