Insecurity: Bago donates 20 operational vehicles, tasks agencies on crimes  

Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has directed security agencies to flush out miscreants tormenting residents of Minna metropolis and curb criminal activities within the capital city. 

The governor issued the order while donating 20 operational vehicles to security agencies in Minna on Monday.

Inaugurating the operative vehicles, Governor Umaru Bago  expressed concern over the security challenges faced in the state capital, hoping that the vehicles would help to curb the menace.

The governor urged the Commissioner of Police (CP) Niger State Command, Ogundele Ayodeji to make effective use of the vehicles to address insecurity in Minna and environs.

“I am giving you a matching order from this point to go after the hoodlums and bring them to book,” he said. 

He also ordered that anybody found selling drugs, his building would be demolished.

He said, “This is intended to flush out the hoodlums and criminal elements within the metropolis in particular and the state as a whole. And again we have realized that a lot of drug trafficking and drug-related issues are happening in Minna and therefore anybody that is warehousing drug dealers or Catel in his premises is at his own risk.”

He emphasised that his administration will give zero tolerance to drugs and other forms of criminalities.

The state Commissioner of Police Ogundele Ayodeji commended the Governor for providing the operational vehicles, adding that the gesture will to aid the safety of lives and property of the citizenry.

He assured that the people of the state will breathe a sigh of relief as his men and other sister agencies will swing into action immediately.
