Injured Ndidi pulls out of Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia friendlies

Nigeria international and Leicester City midfielder, Wlifred Ndidi has pulled out of Nigeria’s friendlies against Cote d’l voire and Tunisia due to injury.
The media officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye, Wednesday confirmed that the midfielder has already told coach Gernot Rohr and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that he’s not likely to be fit for the two friendly games on October 9 and 13 in Austria.

“Ndidi is injured and will not make the trip to Austria for the friendly games against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia. He has informed the coach and the federation about this latest development. We will miss him no doubt (about) that, but then again, this is an opportunity for the other players to rise to the occasion” Ibitoye said.

Ndidi copped the injury in the Foxes’ league win against Burley on Sunday in the English Premier League.
Ndidi is expected to miss Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal at the King Power Stadium.
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is expected to name a replacement for the former Genk of Belgium star ahead of the games.

Granada of Spain midfielder Ramon Azeez is the only midfielder included on the standby list by Rohr.
