The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said yesterday that it distributed about 1.4 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Borno state in  preparation for the 2015 general elections.
The INEC Public Affairs Officer in the state, Mr Tommy Magbuin,   revealed this in a chat with newsmen in Maiduguri.

Magbuin said: “We have so far distributed about 1.4 million PVCs to registered voters in the state.
This represents about 70 percent of the 2 million voters registered.
“We also have about 152, 000 unclaimed PVCs waiting to be collected at our offices”.
He noted that INEC has recorded tremendous successes in its quest to conduct a hitch-free election at the end of March 28 and April in the state.

“We are still awaiting the PVCs for some areas in Maiduguri and Jere local government area.
“The cards are expected to arrive any moment from Abuja as our vehicles are already waiting to bring them to Maiduguri as soon as they arrive.”
