Imo police parade boy, 16, with GPMG ammunitions

Four days after parading abductors of Rev.Father Cyriacus Onunkwo and those of Gospel Singer, Chinedu Nwadike, Imo Police led by CP Chris Ezike have paraded one Onyedikachi Iyaka,16, male from Umuchokwu village, Ehime Mbano LGA for allegedly being in possession of General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) live ammunitions.

 

He was arrested at Egbelu Awaka in Owerri North LGA following a tip-off and a number of exhibits were found with him, which include 400 rounds of chained General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG)live ammunitions, one rounds of AK 47 live ammunition, one AK 47 empty magazine, One K2 empty magazine, one Army camouflage bullet proof vest, one police bullet proof vest, one blue police rain coat, one green beret cap and one empty ammunition box.

 

He told newsmen that he was waiting for his NECO result to come out before he would sit for JAMB and study Building Engineering (ieTechnology)in a university.

 

Other suspected kidnappers paraded by the CP included Kingsley Alaukwu, male,25 of Umuoso Mgbishi in Ohaji Egbema LGA who kidnapped Gabriel Alaukwu, male, 67 and Iniobong Sunday, male, 38 (both late) sometime in May,2017.

Kabiru Garba, male,26 years of Gumel in Jigawa whose victims were Tochukwu Okeke, male and Ekemezie Okeke, male, both of Mbaitoli LGA, Uche Paul Ikewelugo,male,32 years of Awka, Anambra state who sometime ago kidnapped the Bureau Chief of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Owerri, Miss Chidi Opara along MCC/Uratta Road Owerri.

She later paid a ransom of N250,000 before she was released. Her Lexus 300 SUV JEEP with Registration No BGM-735-RD was also recovered at Awka, Anambra state where it was put on sale.

Meanwhile, the Police Command has honoured 28 of its officers who took part in the arrest of various kidnappers in the state.

 

According to CP Ezike, the officers included the 18 who made efforts to track down the kidnappers and killers of Rev. Father Cyriacus Osunkwo.
