Imo govt may declare Charley Boy persona non grata

By Chidiebere Iwuoha

The last may not have been heard on the face-off between Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state and popular musician and show boy, Charles Oputa, aka Charley Boy.
Following the humiliation of the governor by Charley Boy at the burial of Justice Chukwudifu Oputa (Charley Boy’s father) at Oguta, a few days ago, a move is being made in government’s circles to prevent him from having any deal or relationship with Imo people if he fails to apologise to the governor within the shortest possible time.

Our correspondent also learnt that apart from the apology expected from the “Area Father” it was clearly stated that the N20 million given to him by the state government was not meant for him alone, but to be shared amongst members of his family.
The face-off has only succeeded in dividing the people of Oguta into two camps; those for Okorocha and those for Charley Boy, and furthermore into the APC and PDP camps.
