I’m ready to quits office-Giwa

NFF president, Ambassador Chris Giwa has said he  and his elected board members will not hesitate to vacate their coveted seat if competent Appeals Committee like Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) sits to upturn the result of the elections that brought them to office.
He made this submission, yesterday at the National Assembly when he and members of his committee took their turn to interface with the House of Representative Committee on Sports.
According to the proprietor of Giwa FC of Jos,”If the Appeals committee or even CAS comes out today with well grounded decision that my election is flawed, i and my colleagues are ready to vacate the seat but nobody from the aggrieve parties has come forth with a case for the appeals committee”
He said unlike previous board leaders, he was on the saddle to correct previous ills, adding that he was ready to publish and let Nigerians know every kobo that accrues to the nation’s football authority.
“The last board was not able to fulfil its financial obligation to the respective state FAs until the last minute when government gave them money before the world cup all because of elections. We can therefore see that those there before us were not sincere,” he explained further.
Giwa also appealed to the House Committee to intervene in the perennial succession problem bedevilling the football administration in the country possibly by way of legislation.
His words: ”I want this honourable house  to drum it into their heads, if by way of legislation, that after every four year every board should not seek licence for continuity since that has been the problem since the days of Ibrahim Galadima till date. This is so because those from outside the board would
always want to unseat the incumbent because of the noticeable greed and insincerity they are perpetrating.”
However, chairman of the House Committee, Godfrey Gaya, promised that effort would be made to end the crisis but advised all the warring factions should be ready to put up with any manner of reconciliatory decision of the committee while stressing that, ”One thing I want you all to know is that our resolutions are persuasive, not compulsive”.
