Former speaker of Osun state Assembly, Adejare Bello yesterday said he had garnered the required experience and composure that will make him perform excellently as the next governor of the state.
He made the disclosure to newsmen in his hometown, Ede at the 8th day Fidau prayer of his late father, Alhaji Ajagbe Bello Olatoyemu.
Bello, who described his late father as exceptionally good, said the man has been the architect of all he became in life.
He hinted that his ambition to govern the state come November this year was as a result of the experience he has gathered from his father and the three governors he worked with.
He said, “I have what it takes to govern Osun state. I worked with Chief Bisi Akande as minority leader, I worked with Oyinlola for seven and half years as speaker and I worked with Rauf Aregbesola for six months as speaker.
“I was able to pick from the three of them, the good side and the bad side, and if I combine all these together, I will be a good governor.
The event also served as an opportunity for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite its factions in the state.
For the first time since the last congress of the party that stalled, Dr. Bayo Faforiji and Mr. Soji Adagunodo, at the event embraced each other.
The duo had been leading different members in different secretariats since the failure of the party’s congress in the state, two years ago.
Dignitaries at the event were, father of the popular hip-hop singer, Davido, Dr. Deji Adeleke, his brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke, former Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, among others.
Speaking, the former national secretary of PDP, Prof Wale Oladipo, assured that the party was getting it right and ready to take over from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
