The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration (NAFDAC) said that it has sealed thirteen milk production factories in Kano stste for operating illegally without registration from NAFDAC.
The coordinator of the agency in Kano, Alhaji Shaba Mohammad, stated this while briefing journalist shortly after conducting the operation on Thursday.
He said the agency was committed to fishing out counterfeit products from circulation in the society aimed at enhancing the health status of the general populace.
He said that after conducting surveillance on places where the illegal products and counterfeit were being produced in Kano, the agency swang into action.
He noted that NAFDAC sealed 13 suspected factories where fake products were being produced.
The coordinator explained that the operation was a joint operation with enforcement and federal taskforce of NAFDAC from Abuja and Lagos, geared towards achieving the set objectives.
He further revealed that NAFDAC would conduct thorough investigation on the sealed factories and the needed action would be taken.
