I’ll rescue Nigerians from poverty, insecurity – Bafarawa

Former Sokto state Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Baffarawa has declared that to rescue Nigerians from poverty and insecurity if voted into power as president in 2019.
In his words: “I was a councillor in Isa local government of Sokoto state, became council chairman and decided to go into business before contesting for Sokoto governorship when my political profile reached its peak.
“Actually, I did not intent to contest for governorship of Sokoto state, but some elders challenged me because, according to them, the governorship of Sokoto was not for sale.
They also told me that I was not educationally equipped to occupy the office of a governor because of its enormous demands but I proved them wrong,” he said.
Bafarawa, who formed the defunct Democratic People’s Party (DPP) after his eight years as governor said he is firmly equipped to rescue the country from the present throes of insecurity, poverty and economic stagnation.
He said, although people felt he was ill-equipped educationally, he has gone ahead to improve himself by going outside the country to obtain a unversity degree apart from the honourary doctorate degree bestowed on him by the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.
“Already, you can see how people are leaving APC for PDP, including serving senators and governors.
I will do my best to win the PDP primaries and defeat Buhari in the general elections.
“I am more matured politically than Buhari and I can tell you that if I become President, Nigerians will enjoy my government in terms of security and good condition of leaving,’ he boasted.
