I’ll inspire service delivery, PDP candidate tells Oju electorate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Oju local government area in the March 28 council polls in Benue state, Mr. Clement Onaa Agi, has pledged to impact positively on the lives of the people when he formally takes over the leadership of the council.

Mr. Onaa Agi Jnr., who spoke with Blueprint Monday on preparations for the epic election, said he was inspired by the urge to make the difference in Oju, after he came out victorious during the recently concluded primaries in the area.

Blueprintlearnt that Clement will be the youngest politician to ever chair the council since its creation about 44 years ago, having emerged ahead of a former chairman of the area, Mr. Jackson Ikala among others who jostled for the position.

“I’m coming there not only to learn but to give service to my people; make the difference amid paucity of funds because I believe what matters is the judicious use of resources,” he said.

The chairmanship hopeful described the March 28, 2020 local government as a formality, “owing to the overwhelming presence of PDP supporters in the council” as well as the backing of His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom, who adopted him ahead of heavy-weight contenders.

He appealed to his supporters to remain calm and do the needful by voting for him massively on March 28, assuring that they will not be disappointed as he will rely on consultation and friendship for all his activities as chairman.

Mr. Onaa Jnr. specifically commended the role played by the Zone C chairman of the party, Chief Godwin Owulo as well as the support of a former councilor of the local government area, Hon Imini Ode among others, saying none of these will be disappointed when he assumes office after the polls.
