I’ll continue to champion welfare of Nigerian youths – NNPP Chieftain

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, on Wednesday said there was no going back in his commitment towards championing the welfare of Nigerian youth.

Speaking with journalists on the Tuesday attack on his Bullion Hotel located in Simawa Area of Ogun state, the NNPP chieftain demanded prompt investigation into the persistent attacks on his hotel and his person as well as an investigation into the alleged role of the Shimawa Police Division in the Tuesday attack.

The NNPP governorship candidate in Ogun state in 2023 general elections, alleged that over 20 political thugs, allegedly led by three men in uniforms stormed his hotel on Tuesday morning attacking guests as well as staff, saying that the incident allegedly took place around 8 a.m, leaving both staff and guests at the hotel traumatized”.

“There was a similar attack on September 5, 2023, when a group of thugs, some disguised as soldiers, stormed the Bullion Hotel.

They can never stop my action as the voice of the Nigerian youths and I will continue to work for the progress and welfare of the poor and the vulnerable youths in Nigeria”, he said.

Ambassador Ajadi added, ” The Police officers that allegedly slapped the security guards while watching television should be penalised for such action. These boys are always gathering within the secondary school in Shimawa initiating themselves into nefarious activities and terrorising innocent people in the town”.

Emphasising that the CCTV footage showed clearly how the men allegedly in police uniform were molesting, harassing and taking away valuables belonging to the hotel and the hotel security

He said the assailants during the attack identified themselves as boys from Shimawa.

“One of the thugs issued a chilling warning, saying, “We are still coming back to fight you, and we must kill at least three persons. Shimawa belongs to the APC (All Progressives Congress), and anyone opposing this political party, including the hotel owner, Ajadi, should leave the area”.

He listed the items looted during the attack to include handsets, substantial sum of money, and numerous Power Banks used for charging mobile devices”, saying,  Shockingly, five hotel security personnel were arrested during the commotion”
