The new Emir of Borgu in Niger state, Alh Muhammad Haliru-Dantoro, Kitoro IV, has promised to follow his late father’s footsteps and build on his legacies in piloting the affairs of the chiefdom towards attainment of greater heights.
He also commended President Mohammedu Buhari for paying last respect to his late father, Senator Haliru Dantoro Kintoro III, by personally attending the burial in New Busa Palace.
Kintoro IV spoke yesterday in Bida, while in a courtesy visit to Etsu Nupe and chairman of Niger state council of traditional rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, in his Wadata Palace after receiving his appointment letter as the 17TH Emir of Borgu in Minna.
The royal father, a son of the late Emir, expressed appreciation to President Buhari for the concern he showed to the people of Borgu Emirate, during the period of our grief, adding that “he has shown that he is really a friend of our father and the family and I will not let him down”.
He also thanked the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Bola Ahmed Tinabu and other APC chieftains, who were in the kingdom to commiserate with them over the demise of the late monarch.
While thanking the Niger state governor, Alhaji Sani Bello and all traditional rulers for the love and prayers during period of grief, he
said: “I will use my wealth of experience being one term secretary to the emirate to my late father; follow his footsteps as he was piloting the affairs of the emirate to make the kingdom move to greater height”.
