Abia state chapter of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has protested against the removal of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo state while describing the judgment as injurious to democracy.
Abia state PDP Chairman ,Sir Johnson Onuigbo disclosed this in the party Secretariat,while protesting the sacking of Ihedioha around the major streets in the state capital.
He added that though sacking of PDP government of Imo state is painful but despite that they still have hope on judiciary which he said sometimes show that they are under pressure to deliver judgement.
Abia State PDP Chairman said that the protest against the Supreme Court judgement on Ihedioha is going on simultaneously in all the 36 states of the federation.
He however called on the Supreme Court to reverse itself and ensured that justice is done to the winner of the March 9,2019 election in Imo state,Ihedioha and the party.
Abia PDP also called on international community to intervene and say no to tyranny ,
Meanwhile, some of the inscriptions in the placards reads: “Judiciary Stop Being Cowed by Muhammad Buhari”, “Save Nigeria from shame and international embarrassment”, “President Buhari leave Judiciary alone”, “Can a government that does not obey rule of law allow Justice to Thrive”, among others
The protest attracted members of the state executive council of PDP, ward and LGA executives including members of the party at the zonal level.
