IGP easily accessible – Junior officers

Some junior police offi cers have expressed happiness that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris, is accessible to all offi cers and men of the Force across the country. Th e offi cers spoke recently when the IGP addressed over 600 Police Mobile Force currently undertaking the anti-kidnapping and other criminal activities on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Th ose who spoke to newsmen in their separate interviews were Sgt. Ibrahim Sabo, Sgt. James Okoro, Cpl. Inuwa Mohammed, and Constable Jimoh Adebayo, among others. Also, men and offi cers of both military/police joint patrol at Alheri Camp commended the police boss for “coming to see” them personally, adding that the gesture “will signifi cantly move” them to do more in addressing the security challenges in the area. According to them, seeing their police boss physically in their mix in their area of operation has greatly boosted their moral in the discharge of their duties.

Th ey maintained that the gesture had encouraged them to do everything humanly possible to arrest those criminals terrorising law-abiding citizens plying the highway. Also speaking, the district head and youth leader of Rijana community, Alhaji Muhammad Dauda and Ismaila Ahmed, respectively, commended the IGP for the visit, and pledged their support and cooperation to the police
