IGP Arase bags Uniben award

Authorities of University of Benin (UNIBEN) is set to conferred an honorary degree on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase
Also to be conferred is Prof. Giwa Osagie, a foremost Consultant Gynaecologist who was one of the medical personnel that spearheaded the successful innovation of the first Nigerian test tube baby.

The vice-chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, stated this at a press briefing heralding the institution’s 41st Convocation/45th Founder’s Day Ceremony scheduled to hold between November 23 and 28, 2015.
Besides, Orumwense disclosed that the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, Sarki would be installed as the 9th Chancellor of the University.
The VC further stated that the institution had certified a total of 11, 020 graduands for the awards of Diplomas and Degrees.
Of the figure, 64 students bagged First Class, while 1,671 graduands bagged Second Class (Upper Division).
