Igbo in Kebbi renovates schools with N6bn Bauchi condemn IPOB’s activities

Igbo living in Bauchi state, under the umbrella of Igbo Community, Bauchi, have condemned the activities of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), saying they believed in the indivisibility of Nigeria as enshrined in the nation’s constitution.

Addressing newsmen on Saturday at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Bauchi, the President General, Igbo Community Bauchi, Rev. Dominic Nkwocha, flanked by his Secretary General, Patrick Onuorah, and other leaders, said Igbo in the state stand with the position of the South-east governors, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo and their senators who jointly organised a press conference recently and proscribed IPOB.

“We believe in the indivisibility of Nigeria as enshrined in our constitution and to remind everybody that God who created us did not make a mistake to bring all of us together under the umbrella of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are dissociating ourselves from the activities of the so called Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), they said.

They promised to continue to respect the law and the constituted authorities as well as go about their legitimate duties with the host community. “We equally wish to commend the governor of Bauchi state for the peaceful co-existence which Bauchi has continued to enjoy due to unalloyed security outfit in place in Bauchi state.”
