Ibrahim Makama’s failures: Misau/Dambam deserved better

It is with a heavy heart that I write this article today, as a concerned Nigerian who feels the pain of the people of Misau/Dambam federal constituency of Bauchi state. For the past four years, they have been represented by Ibrahim Makama, a member of the House of Representatives, who has failed to effectively represent his people. I cannot help but lament how much Makama has failed his constituents.

The sad reality is that Makama, in the entire four years that he had been in office, has not moved a single motion, let alone sponsored a bill. This is unacceptable! How can a representative who is meant to serve the people sit idly by and do nothing while his people continue to suffer?

Misau/Dambam is home to thousands of Nigerians who have had to endure poor infrastructure, insecurity, and poverty for far too long. Yet, their representative has not deemed it fit to bring their concerns to the forefront of national discourse. This is simply a case of a representative who is lazy, indifferent, or unconcerned about the plight of his people.

The people of Misau/Dambam deserved better than what they got from Ibrahim Makama. They deserve a representative who will work tirelessly to ensure that their voices are heard, and concerns are addressed. They deserve a representative who will move motions, sponsor bills, and fight for their rights. They deserve a representative who is not afraid to stand up to the powers that be, and who will not bow to pressure or compromise on their demands.

As new representatives emerge, it is my hope that the people of Misau/Dambam will get the representation they truly deserve.
