Ibezim pays tribute to late Uwajumogu, one year after

Contestant into Imo North senatorial bye-election Sir Frank Ibezim has paid glowing tribute to late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu who represented Okigwe zone in the National Assembly.

In a tribute on Friday which he personal signed, Ibezim said, “Today we mark the first anniversary of the passing onto the great beyond of my good friend and brother, late Sen. Ben Uwajumogu who represented our Okigwe people in both the 8th and 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“His unfortunate demise continues to be a source of deep anguish and sorrow and I again pray the Almighty to grant his soul eternal repose, and for his dear family, the consolation and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“Sen. Ben and I shared the same vision and passion for service dedicated to the best principles of bringing democracy dividends to Okigwe, the land of vegetation and talent, of promise and hope. We stayed in the trenches to overcome the forces diametrically opposed to our resolve to raise our people from the ravages of poverty to abundance of harvest and resurgence of hope for a brighter future.

“Same forces are at work today fighting to truncate the overwhelming mandate freely given to me by our people at the December 5 Imo North Senatorial bye-election. I am confident that the grace of God and the resilient spirit of our people which ensured a long fought victory during the days of late Sen. Ben Uwajumogu will again prevail for us this time.
“Hopefully, it won’t be long before the Okigwe people will once again enjoy their due democracy dividends that comes from quality representation at the red chambers of the National Assembly.

“On behalf of my dear wife, Fran, family and the good people of Imo North, I commiserate once more with Sen. Ben’s widow Eileen, his children and family as we mark the first anniversary of his passage and pray for God’s continued consolation for this irreparable loss.
“May the soul of Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in eternal peace. Amen.”
