The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Wednesday asked the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Oyo state to stop picketing its offices or disrupting its operations.
IBEDC made the appeal in a statement by its coordinating head, Corporate Services, Angela Olanrewaju, in Ibadan.
The IBEDC said there is the need for the Oyo state branch of the NLC to exercise patience while discussions progress.
“We appeal to the Oyo state branch of the NLC to exercise patience while discussions progress and to refrain from picketing our offices or disrupting operations.
“Such actions would only impede our ability to provide uninterrupted power supply to businesses and residents in Oyo state and its environs,” the statement reads.
Reiterating its commitment to provide exceptional service and continuously implement measures to enhance value across its franchise areas, IBEDC said it is actively supporting the resolution of the ongoing third-party outsourcing Premier International Procurements & Logistics Limited (PIPILL) issue with the Oyo state branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
“The company appreciates the Federal Ministry of Labour for its efforts in facilitating discussions among stakeholders and commends the professionalism demonstrated throughout the mediation process, which remains ongoing.
IBEDC in the statement while refuting the claim that it has terminated 3,000 employees, warned that the company will pursue legal action to address the defamation on the alleged sack of the employees
