Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, yesterday said he would not accept any attempt to re-appoint him as the commission’s boss.
He said he was called to contribute in building the country, which he had done to the best of his ability.

Jega, who spoke to BBC Hausa Service yesterday morning, said: “I will not accept any attempt at reappointing me. I have done my best, as was giving to do.”
According to him, five years is a good time for someone to do his best, and God has helped him to do just that.

He said the use of the card reader had reduced rigging, adding that there was no pressure on him to do what was not right.
“All that we required that will make us work were provided to us,” he stressed, adding “and we have done the work with success.”
