I was not attacked at Ohaji Egbema -Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has debunked the rumour making  the rounds that he was attacked at Mmahu, the headquarters of Ohaji Egbema LGA, when he went to condole with  the families of three persons who lost their lives in an accident involving the vehicle of an oil company drilling oil in the area.

The governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwuike Nwachukwu said it was the governor’s official vehicle that was attacked by a youth leader in the area who sneaked out while the governor was addressing stakeholders in the hall and that the police  arrested him afterwards.

He further said that before the governor’s vehicle was attacked, there was uproar in the hall as security agents tried to calm down the situation and that it was while the noise was on that the suspect went to where the official vehicle was parked and hit it with a stone.

Immediate past governor of the state, Chief Emeka Ihedioha commended Imo people for supporting him and standing firm throughout his legal battles. He said he made efforts to see that the mandate given to him by the people and taken away by the Supreme Court was retrieved but that the apex court refused to review their January 14 judgment.

While urging Imo citizens to keep calm, he vowed that all those who took part in scuttling the mandate given to him by the people would not go unpunished as they would live to suffer for it. He  added that any evil man does to  man must be readdressed someday.
