Hunters intercept Boko Haram cattle rustlers in Borno

Sequel to recent security challenges posed by Boko Haram terrorists in cattle rustling to raise funds for their criminal activities, hunters from Gur village in Biu Local Government Area (LGA), Borno State in conjunction with hunters from Damaturu intercepted suspected Boko Haram terrorists cattle rustlers east of Burashika village of Biu Local Government Area.
Army spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman said the hunters killed one terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle mounted with magazine of 2 rounds. He said they also recovered 48 cows, 58 goats, 36 sheeps and 12 donkeys during the encounter that lasted several hours last Thursday.
He said all recovered livestock had been handed over to the security operatives in Gur village pending identification by the rightful owners and handover.
