How to resolve Super Eagles foreign coach salary issues – Reps

House of Representatives Committee on Sports has advised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to make the salaries of Super Eagles coaches an item in its annual budget to make it easy for the Federal Government to pay.

The suggestion was made to the leadership of the NFF on Wednesday during the House Committee on Sports interactive meeting with the Football House.

The Committee said this is to put an end to the incessant complaints of lack of money and delays of payment of the Super Eagles Head Coach.

According to the Chairman of the Committee Honourable Kabiru Amadu, “it was important to meet with the NFF officials to know how they performed with their 2024 budget and the challenges they are facing ahead of the 2025 appropriation.

“As a Committee it’s very necessary for us to be on the same page with the NFF so that we can continue to improve the game because football is a unifier and therefore we must do everything to always put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

“It was a robust session with both the NFF President and the General Secretary, and we also raised concerns about the areas we were not satisfied with and asked the NFF to furnish us with more details before their next Budget defense for 2025.”

Meanwhile, the President of the NFF Ibrahim Gusau used the meeting to thank the leadership of the House for their support especially during the Super Eagles botched AFCON Qualifier against Libya.
