How Tinubu is not favouring Southwest in security appointments – Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu’s administration favours the Southwest in security appointments.

The Special Adviser to the president on Public Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare dismissed the claim in a post via his official X handle on Sunday, 3rd of November.

Dare shared a table comprising the heads of 20 security agencies and the region of the country they hail from.

The presidential aide’s post is coming in the wake of the criticism that trailed Tinubu’s appointment of Olufemi Oluyede as the acting chief of army staff, (COAS).

Responding through a table shared, Dare, said the north-west has the highest number of current security chiefs, with eight slots.

He said the South-west has five heads of security agencies, while the North-central is third, with four appointees.

According to him, three security chiefs are from the North-east.
