A public Affairs commentator, Mr. Jonas Afondo, has expressed concern over the ‘neglect’ of judiciary staff and their poor conditions of service and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, “as a matter of urgency, look into the plights of judicial staff in the country.”
He made the call in an interview with journalists in Yola Friday, lamenting that federal judicial staffers were “completely excluded from benefiting from the New National minimum wage of N70, 000 recently approved by the federal government.”
He said “this is despite the poor conditions of service which subjected them and their families to untold hardships in this worsening economic reality in the country.”
Afondo said, “The pathetic situation of federal judicial staff is unacceptable in this harsh economic reality. I want to appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look into their plight and address this anomaly through improved working conditions. Where judiciary staffers are neglected or poorly remunerated, there will be room for corruption in the judiciary and justice will be the casualty.”
