How Enugu deteriorated under Ugwuanyi – Nweke

All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA), governorship candidate for Enugu 2023, Hon. Frank Nweke Jnr has regretted that since Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi mounted the rostrum as the executive governor of Enugu state, the state has  deteriorated instead of moving forward.

Nweke said that for the past seven years, Enugu has been going down gradually as refuse has taken over every nook and cranny of Enugu metropolis whereas most roads were in sorry state.

He wondered why the Ugwuanyi administration has not added any infrastructure while existing ones could not be maintained.

Nweke who said this Wednesday at a leadership retreat organised by a pressure group, Take Back Naija, TBN, said why the former governors, starting from Jim Nwobodo, the former governor of old Anambra state, Chimaroke Nnamani to Sullivan Chime, established one public utility or the other, rather than add to the existing social amenities, Ugwuanyi has allowed them to deteriorate.

Hear him: “Enugu has not been as it is today. The roads are in bad shape. Is it the way it had been six, seven, eight years ago?” he queried.

The former Minister of Information, said that the Ugwuanyi administration was only good at diverting money and doling out money as if it is his and called on the people to shine their eyes and vote for  a governor that would change the status quo.

“Money is being diverted and that is why things are the way they are in Enugu State.  Shine your eyes and vote wisely,” he urges Enugu people for the forthcoming polls.

Nweke said that now was the time when all the candidates vying for one political position or the other should come out and tell the people why they are seeking their mandate.

“Let all the candidates come and explain to the public why they are vying for the positions and offices they  are vying for.  There is too much problems in the land.  Let all the candidates or the political parties come out and tell the people what they have been doing and what they want to do. You don’t take what belongs to all of us to do charity,” he declared.
