The time for development through the instrumentality of representation is now. Representative democracy is a tool for modern aspiration and since it is the people who envelope their aspirations, needs and sovereignty into a representative as their collective voice for democracy, the people of Idah, Kogi state yearn for that truly people oriented and anointed voice – Hon Egbunu Amanabo Yusuf. The people of Idah have decided to seek this time the vision, charisma and developmental aspiration of Hon. Yusuf.
Since the return of democracy in 1999, the people of Idah have wasted their political capital by colluding with some vested interest to elect the wrong representative into the House of Representatives. This has retarded the development of constituency. Thus, the people have resolved to correct this poor representation in the realization of their developmental goals. The vision, education and personality of Yusuf have made the people see him as a political asset on the federal stage.
The people have resolved that never again are they going to be bamboozled into surrendering their political will to a godfather somewhere to choose a leadership for them at the House of Representatives. For so long, the people have remained in political docility and this time they cannot discard a man whose time to represent his people has come. The urbane, educated and workaholic Yusuf’s strongest point is his sympathy to the cause of his people. Indeed, his generosity knows no bound, earning the people’s trust. His stand against exploitative tendencies of many a politician prior to his aspiration makes him the preferred choice of the people.
The people believe Yusuf will propel their development and economic prosperity. He sees his entrance into politics as a call to defend his people’s rights rather than the whims and caprices of a glutinous few. This attribute seems glaring in all his political dealings. He has shown the traits that he shall lead and be a leader for all. He is now considered as the next political tsunami and the new deal in the political calculations of the Idah federal constituency. He hopes to give his people a new vision.
The confidence on this young man is heightened by his managerial ability because truly he is an astute manager of people and material resources. The people know a good leader when they see one. The people of this constituency have seen one in Hon Egbunu Amanabo Yusuf. And he believes in legislative actions and the rule of law. He understands the nature and peculiarity of his people such as the environment, culture, tradition and religion. He will in no small measure contribute his quota in law making at the House for the good of his people.
