Plateau state High Court 2, presided over by Justice Yakubu G. Dakwak, has adjourned a case of an alleged culpable homicide till 11 November 11, 2014, for hearing on the matter.
In the suit which was filed by the state Commissioner of Police against Mr. Joglang Jatau  and seven others, accusing them of intercepting, attacking and killing five travellers at Rayfield in Jos South local government area of Plateau state, while on their way from Gombe state to Nasarawa state, after attending Maulud on May 24, this year.
The matter which came up yesterday had the plea of the accused taken even as he pleaded not guilty to the charges, after the plaintiffs and prosecution counsels had filed amended charges as granted by the court.

Defence counsel to the accused, Barr. Gyang Zi, had earlier filed in a motion that sought the bail of the accused.
However, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. A.O. Lambe, opposed to the application, saying that the matterwa dealing with culpable homicide, and pleaded with the court not to grant the accused bail, stressing that it was too early for the defence to have sought bail.
As at yesterday’s proceedings, Justice Dakwak ordered for the continual remand of the accused persons at the Jos Maximum Security Prisons.
