The management of Glo Premier League side, Heartland FC, have officially requested the side’s technical adviser, Kelechi Emeteole, to forward the shopping list of potential new players for the second-term campaign.
Emeteole will certainly be the happiest person with this request as he indicated early that he’d be shopping for experienced strikers, left full-back and other areas that do not have substitutes, ahead of the second term campaign.
The Naze Millionaires witnessed a period of difficulties in the first stanza but managed to finish off respectfully in 10th position on 27 points from a possible 57.
Heartland boss, Prince Okechukwu Ibe, who approved the one-week mid-season break for the players, said the new directive was aimed at helping the technical crew correct whatever shortcomings were noted in the first stanza of the league, to ensure greater performance.
“We’re also using this period to appraise the performance of the team in the first round and seek ways to fortify it.
“That’s why we’ve asked the technical adviser to forward names of new players they’ll require to strengthen the side for the second-term campaign.
“We must come off the mid season break with renewed spirit to excel and take our rightful place in the league.
“Again we’ve asked the players to proceed on a one-week mid-season break following the break off of the domestic league as a result of the ongoing World Cup Finals in Brazil.
“The idea is to let the players refresh and those with injuries to recover fully before they return to league action,” said Ibe.
The management of the two-time Federation Cup winners has, however, withdrawn the one-month sack notice given to some players about two weeks ago after the general manager called for a review of their cases to see if there was justice in the club’s action.
