Hardship: Tinubu needs solidarity, not protest – Faparusi

Following Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) nationwide protest on Tuesday because of economic hardship in the country, a one- time House of Representatives member, Honourable Bamidele Faparusi, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves solidarity and prayers, not protest to fix the nation.

Faparusi who was also the Director General and frontline of Tinubu support group in the 2023 presidential election, “National Unity Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (NUMBAT)” also advised the federal government to “control inflation through the reduction of FAAC sharing instead of the regular increase in the interest rate by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“Tinubu is fighting against economy saboteurs who have turned to principalities and powers. The economic problem we face today is the accumulation of financial recklessness of previous administrations, the present economic woe is inevitable and it is better we face it now and move on.

“It’s painful, it will always be painful, but we should commend Tinubu for choosing the path of holistic solution rather than cosmetic approach of previous administration.

“I don’t see any present leader aside Tinubu that has the audacity to confront the years of economic decay knowing that doing so will bring immediate pain,” he said.
