Happy 60th birthday Ambassador Lawal Kazaure!

As he often does, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP), Ambassador Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure, who, this week, clocked the ripe age of 60.

Kazaure, a hard-to-find kind of man, gentle and amenable, clocked 60 years on April 5, 2020. According to Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the APC, Ambassador Kazaure is a fine career diplomat and an excellent human being who “performs his responsibilities with utmost dedication, courage and commitment.”

It is, therefore, unsurprising that the president felicitated with him mainly because of his meritorious service to the country as a career diplomat.

Expectedly but, crucially, the president joined family, friends and professional colleagues of Kazaure in celebrating the milestone attained by his protocol officer.

Kazaure, in many respects, can be described as an accomplished diplomat. In the course of his illustrious diplomatic career and service to humanity, he served the country patriotically and diligently in missions abroad including Namibia, Turkey, Syria and Iran Cote D’Ivoire, where he worked, untiringly and commendably to safeguard Nigerian citizens during the political crisis in 2010.

As Ambassador Kazaure turns 60, the president said he believes that his vast experience and wisdom in diplomacy would always remain relevant, especially as issues steadily take global dimensions. Stay steadfast, dedicated and committed to nation building, is Buhari’s message to Kazaure on this occasion.

And, indeed, it is a big occasion for Kazaure and others in the Villa who have closely or otherwise associated with him. For Kazaure, without doubt, is somebody who has made it his mission to be loving, kind, gentle and true. For him, therefore, at 60 it is a mission accomplished!

The mission is to shower him, like Buhari does, with our love and gratitude. Happy 60th birthday, Kazaure! We wish you more joy and health than you ever expected on your 60th birthday…and every day afterward.

And, again like Buhari does, we pray to God to give you long life, more wisdom and strength to keep serving Nigeria, especially at this difficult period of our country’s history.
