Kuje Area Council, the food basket of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, will be agog as all arrangement have been put place for the maiden edition of Alhaji Hamidu Football Challenge Cup kicks off yesterday at Kuje Township Stadium, Abuja.
According to the Chairman of Kuje Football Council, Hussaini Tanko Abubakar.
22 clubs will compete for the prize money and trophy which will be made public as the competition progresses. Also, certificate will be given to all the participating clubs with branded balls.
The competition which kicks off today (Monday) will be attended by the FCT FA Chairman Mohammed Adams Mouhtar the Technical Committee chairman, Coach Samuel Abimbola, Association Organising Committee Chairman Barr. Bocknor , Ngozi Eze , Chairman Women League FCT FA and other dignitaries including 6 Chairmen FCT FA football Area Council
The curtain raiser will be Vision Stars Fc versus U Z Academy billed for 4 p.m.
Other fixtures for the first round are Home Boys versus Mega Stars at 2pm. Thursday will be free day while hostilities will resume on Friday with Crown Tee against Young Tigers 2 at pm. Others matches include, Uniabuja versus Grassroots, Makinz vs Capital FC, Lucky Stars vs Mature Mind, Anagada Utd vs Royal Ennys, Gods Favour vs Mango FC.
The chairman assured that security will be top notch as all that is needed have been put in place while urging football fans to troop out to witness the best of football in the council.
