Hajj: Max Air returns 26, 000 Nigerian pilgrims

Following the continued return of pilgrims from the Holy land to the country, the management of Max Airlines said yesterday that it had so far airlifted 26, 000 out of the 35, 576 pilgrims to Nigeria after the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Spokesman of the airline, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, made the disclosure to newsmen in Kano yesterday.
He said the pilgrims were transported back to the country in 48 flights adding that the airline had completed the return airlift of all pilgrims from Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina and Zamfara states.
“As of today, we have airlifted all the pilgrims from Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina and Zamfara states to the country.
‘’We have also made six flights for Sokoto state pilgrims while the seventh flight is on its way to Nigeria from the King Abdul’aziz International Airport, Jeddah,” he said.
He, however, stated that the airline had commenced the return airlift of pilgrims from Bauchi and Adamawa, stressing that it had made two trips for Adamawa, while the third flight was also on its way to Nigeria from Jeddah.
“Adamawa has four flights and we have already made two flights for them while the third one is on its way to Nigeria.”
According to him, all the pilgrims who were flown back to the country returned with their luggage.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the airline to complete the airlift of all the pilgrims allocated to it before the deadline given to it.
