Hajj 2024: NAHCON, states visit Muna, Muzdalifa, Arafat for familiarisation

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Monday  physically visited  Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifa, which  afforded officials the opportunity to establish the positions of the Nigerian pilgrims.

The visit to these areas was led by the NAHCON Operations Commissioner, Prince Anofiu Olarenwaju Elegushi, staff and officials of States Pilgrims Welfare Boards to the tour of the Taraddudiyyah’ routes.

The commissioner during the visit warned the Nigerian pilgrims to safeguard their health under the intense heat of the sun and advised them against adopting the mentality of ‘I must get to the Jabalur-Rahma’ which was not established to be compulsory in Islamic jurisprudence.

He called on the media, the Ulama and the officials to intensify the enlightenment campaign to encourage the entourage and the pilgrims to abide by the grouping arrangement in order to avert disorderliness.

Earlier, the Makkah coordinator who is also the head of Tradudiya, Dr Aliyu Tanko, stated that the essence of the Taraddudiyyah’ route is to avert the gridlock and ease movement of pilgrims from Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifa by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj.

He advised the officials to obey the rules and to always caution their pilgrims from taking action that may disrupt free- flow of vehicular movements during the Masha’er.

Those on the entourage of commissioner are representatives from Ogun, Plateau, Nasarawa, Yobe, Oyo and Zamfara states.
