Gunmen set cars, motorcycles, other property in Ebonyi

Ebonyi state police command Monday confirmed the burning of about three vehicles, motorcycles, and a Tricycle at Ezzangbo junction, Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi state.

A viral video was seen online where commuter buses were set on fire along Enugu-Abakaliki expressed way by Ezzangbo junction.

According to the video, the perpetrators were said to be members of IPOB/ESN.

Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, maintained that the IPOB / ESN were responsible for the deeds at Ezzangbo.

Onome noted that no life was lost but the property of people were destroyed.

Onome in a statement said, “The Armed men suspected to be IPOB/ESN members in a Sienna car attacked commuter buses, tricycles and motorcycles at Ezzangbo junction.

“They burnt down 3 commuter buses, 4 motorcycles, and 1 tricycle. No life was lost.
Operatives of the Command have been dispatched to the scene and its environs to fish out the perpetrators. And we believe that before the end of the day, the perpetrators will be apprehended”.
