Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday abducted the father of the minority whip at the House of Representatives, Pa. Ogbewe Samson.
Pa Ogbewe was reportedly taken hostage by the gunmen at his Urhokuosa residence in Uhunmwode local government area of Edo state.

Witness said the octogenarian’s dad of Samson Osagie who represents Uhunmwode/Orhionmwon federal constituency of Edo state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was abducted from his resident at about 7.pm by gunmen numbering six.

Eyewitnesses said his abductors shot sporadically to scare neigbours away before whisking him (Pa Ogbewe) away in their Gulf car.
Besides the incident, the octogenarian survived a road accident in 2011 while returning from his son’s inauguration as a member of the seventh National Assembly.

At the time of filling this report yesterday, it was gathered that the Pa Ogbewe’s family members were yet to establish contacts with his abductors.
An aide to the legislator, who craved anonymity, called on the state Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to ensure the octogenarian was unconditionally released.
When contacted, the spokesman for Edo state police command, Mr Ejiroro Ahwara, said the command was yet to be informed of the incident.
