Gunmen, Sunday, kidnapped a Catholic Priest, Reverend Fr. Christian Ike, at Ndịokpalaeke, Ọrumba North Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra state.
Ike, who was abducted around 10.30am, according to eyewitness, was returning from St Micheal Catholic Church Ndiokpaleke where he attended morning service, alongside two other persons who incidentally escaped the abductors.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra state police command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, added that the criminals equally took away some personal belongings of the occupants of the vehicle.
He, however, said the operative has deployed its intelligence and operational assets for the possible rescue of the priest unhurt, adding that the command would also ensure that the culprits were arrested.
