For the second time, some yet-to-be identified gunmen, suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, on Wednesday’s night struck again in Kishirnga village of Madagali local government area of Adamawa state stealing two herds of cattle numbering about 170.

A villager, Joseph Ularamu, said the insurgents that came into the village on bikes asked the farming community not to run; “they told us that they have not come to kill, but rather to get foodstuff and other amenities.”
“So, they took away with 170 cattle (two herds) they ordered the shepherd to lead the cow, and as I am talking to you now, we are yet to see the man,” said Ularamu.

Chairman of Madagali local government, Mr Abawu James Watharda, said that no life was recorded to have been lost during the attack, as many fled.
“As I’m talking to you now, many people, mostly children and women, are fleeing the area while we are trying to calm them down.”
He added that soldiers had been dispatched to the troubled area to beef up security.

The chairman called on the people of the area to remain calm as the council was on top of the situation.
Blueprint reports that this is the second time in less than five months that insurgents have attacked the area.
