Gunmen abduct Edo musician

Suspected kidnappers have whisked away Edo popular musician, Ambassador Osayomore Joseph

The musician was reportedly abducted on Tuesday night at Orovie Village in Egor local government area of the state.

He was said to be returning home after performing at a function in Benin City, when the gunmen struck.

Blueprint gathered that his wife was reportedly shot by his abductors.

The incident is coming less than two weeks after gunmen killed three policemen on guard at the Ogba Zoo and Nature Park.

The gunmen had also abducted the Zoo’s Curator, Mr. Andy Ehanire, a brother to the Minister of Health for State, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.

Besides, the Parish Priest of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Okpella, Fr. Lawrence Adorolo was abducted on September 27.

He, however, regained his freedom last Saturday.

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Moses Nkombe confirmed the incident.

He explained that security operatives have been drafted to hot spots across the state, adding that the police would ensure Osayomore’s release.
