The organisers of popular Nigerian music award, Headies Awards, have announced nominees for the 16th edition of the award.
The organisers on Thursday revealed the nominees for the “Rookie of the Year” category on Tuesday.
In a tweet on it’s official handle, described the category as “A voting category for the rookie of the year who has had a successful year musically, with the absence of an album in the year under review.”
Guchi, Bayanni, Odumodublvck, Khaid, Bloody Civilian, and Elter Skillz are the nominees in this category.
Teni, Mayorkun, Ycee, Reekado Banks, Bad Boy Timz, Barry Jhay, and Fave are just a few of the category’s past winners.
The award also has categories for Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Next Rated, and others.
Only one edition of the Headies Award has been held outside the country since the award’s inception, and that was the 15th edition, which took place on September 4, 2022, in the United States of America.
