Guard your back, Abimbola warns Eagles

By Ikenna Okonkwo Abuja —

Former coach of Nigeria’s U-20 Men team, Flying Eagles, Samuel Abimbola has warned Super Eagles to be on their guard when they face Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital.
Abimbola who handed down the warning while speaking to Blueprint Sport yesterday maintained that with the blistering performance of the young Zambia players in recent times, Super Eagles must put on their sharp instinct when the encounter goes underway tomorrow.
Kick-off time is 5pm.
According to the former Sunshine and Gateway handler, “Our team should beware of complacency especially from the left back.
Super Eagles are in pole position to be in Russia next for the World Cup but the team needs to be very careful.
“Super Eagles were good against Cameroon but the defence especially from the left full back was repeatedly found wanting, if not for Victor Moses who Coach Conte has instilled defensive instinct, the outcome of that match in Yaoundé would have been a diff erent case.
“Graduation of most U-20 players to the senior Zambia national team is another advantage.
Each of them plays to impress the coach.
Th ey are going to fi ght the fi ght of their life.
Th ey will take the battle to work.
And so, our boys must be very careful.
