An All Progressives support group, the APC Grassroots Governance Group (APC G3) has urged the political class to emulate the high moral standard and antecedents of former Osun state Governor Bisi Akande.
The group hailed Akande for demonstrating integrity in all public offices he occupied including when he was the interim National Chairman of the APC and has continued to pass the same to upcoming political class.
National Coordinator, APC G3, Hon. Amechi Chuks Oyema stated this when the group presented an Award of Excellence to Hon. Afolabi Kehinde Omoniwa, an aide of the former Osun Governor in Abuja on Wednesday.
The national coordinator said Hon. Omoniwa and other party members who made huge but silent contributions to the victory of APC in the 2023 general election were selected for awards in order to encourage party members who are playing very significant roles in the party, even when they are not very visible.
Oyema, while soliciting support for the government of Bola Tinubu in its bid to restore the glory of the country, noted that the recent removal of fuel subsidy is a step in the right direction.
He however urged the government to provide palliative in order to ease the hardship being experienced by Nigerians.
Receiving the award, Hon. Omoniwa expressed surprise over his nomination for the award, saying that it will propel him to do more in the service of the country.
He urged the political class to play politics with high ethical principles at heart.
While urging Nigerians to support the policies of President Tinubu, said the President is committed to finding solutions to the Socio-economic problems facing the country.
He urged APC G3 to remain committed to grassroots political advancement.
Others in the APC G3 delegation are the Deputy National Coordinator, North, Comrade Muazu Labo, APC G3 Deputy Directoe, Organising/Strategy, Hon. Yusuf Ishaq, APC Karu Ward Auditor, Hon. Ayo Oshonubi, amongst others.
