Group launches skills acquisition training for 50 Borno women

The executive director of Initiative for Educational Awareness and Economic Development (INEAED), Maiduguri, Ambassador Bulama Abiso, has said the organisation decided to launch an educational, awareness and skills acquisition training programme for 50 selected vulnerable women and girls across the 27 councils in the state.

He said the launching of the program is part of the organisation’s social and humanitarian interventions, assistance and support to the victims of the Boko Haram insurgency, especially, the most vulnerable, orphans, helpless children and and women.

The aim is to make the physically challenged less dependent in life, alleviating their sufferings and making them self reliant and entrepreneurs or employers of labour.

The executive director stated this Thursday at the launching of programme tagged, “Building Resilience and Economic Recovery for women and Girls in Borno state,” organised by INEAED and held at Women Development Centre, Maiduguri.

Amb. Abiso stated further that: “Today’s program is solely funded by the organisation where about 50 women and girls in Borno state will be trained in various skills to build their resilience and empower them economically.”
