A group, Njem Igbo, a grassroots movement of Igbo people aimed at total turn-around on the fate of Ndi Igbo, has come up with a formidable plan of action to among other things revamp and actualise the Igbo 2015 presidential ambition in Nigeria, thereby ending many years of marginalisation of the Igbo.
In a statement issued by its coordinator, Paschal Egoigbo and secretary, Remigus Nwabugo, the group condemned the alleged lukewarm attitude of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo over the emergence of a president of Igbo extraction.
It, therefore, gave the Igbo umbrella organisation a two-week ultimatum to revive the clamour or else there would be a civil activism to resist their imposition on Igbo people.
They regretted that over the years the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo had literally demonstrated some profundity or inferiority complex, serving as an instrument of scuttling the Igbo presidential project in Nigeria just for a morsel of meat, giving up their birth right and shifting today’s responsibility to become a herculean task for the younger generation.
While calling on Ndi Igbo all over the world to rise up and ignore the hallucination deliberately designed by the powers that be and executed by Ohaneze Ndigbo and some other Igbo elite, the group urged President Goodluck Jonathan to, in the spirit of sincerity of appreciation to Ndigbo for the enormous support given to him when the battle was tough, make sacrifice and every other thing humanly possible for the actualisation of Igbo presidency, come 2015.
