A support group under the umbrella of Grassroots Mobilisers for Buhari (GMB) has commended the Controller-General of Customs, Col. Hamid Ali (retd.) for his effort in improving the Nigerian economy through revenue generation.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja yesterday after the GMB meeting, national matron of the group, Hajiya Fatima Muhammed Goni (Mama GMB) said the custom boss has made a lot of successes in tackling the menace of imported arms by the bad eggs in the country.
“Revenue generation is now more than 80 per cent increase, he has blocked all the leakages which have made it possible for revenue to increase. The Nigeria customs officers have now become more disciplined, professional and committed to their duties,” he said.
She added that as a result of Ali’s efforts, smuggling has reduced to the barest minimum, a case which she said has improved the country’s security.
Goni called on other political appointees in the Buhari administration to emulate his style of leadership and make him their role model.
