Group backs FG’s moves to sanitise fishery sub-sector

Following the recent publications on some of the national dailies which faulted the new fish import licence by the federal government, the Fish Farmers Association of Nigeria (FFAN) has distanced itself from the publication.

In a statement signed by the national president of the association, Hussaini Raha, he described the publication by the Nigeria Fish Traders Association (NFTA) as a mere mischief and a way of denting the image of the present administration.
Raha further explained that the aim of the ministry of agriculture and rural development is to reposition the fishery sub-sector in order to promote the fishery industry.

The statement further urged the Nigeria Fish Traders Association to allowminister to discharge his responsibilities in order to uplift the standard of the fishery industry in Nigeria.

Raha expressed dismay over the move by some group of persons who were trying to cause confusion in the fishery industry. He urged them to support the present administration transformation agenda.
The statement finally urged all members of the fishery association and other relevant associations to join in the federal government moves to improve the fishery sub-sector.
