Nigeria‘s Vice President Kashim Shettima has discribed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Saturday September 20, 2024 governorship election in Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as a seasoned Senator with a proven track record.
Shettima who urged the people to vote the APC candidate at the poll said he was the right man to take Edo to next level.
He assured of the federal government’s commitment to support him in his pledge to develop the state.
Shettima stated this at grand finale campaign rally in support of the APC candidate which held in Benin City, the state capital.
Other dignitaries at the rally include Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio, APC national chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and six states governors.
Continuing, Shettima said: “the signing of the peace accord without hesitation shows our dedication to putting the interests of Edo above all else.”, stressing that it also underlined the importance of unity and peace in achieving progress.
The Vice President added: “I am a man who feels it all, and has a story to tell.
“I understand the struggles of Edo State, and I am committed to being part of the solution.”
On his part, the APC candidate for the election, Senator Okpebholo said a vote for him, was a vote for education, security, social infrastructure, good health care service and agriculture.
He pledged to employ 10,000 teachers, noting that half of the numbers would be employed within the first 100 days on his assumption of office.
