The Kaduna state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Hajiya Amina Dazala, has disclosed that a total of 2,062 prospective corps members had been duly registered for the 2025 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course in the state.
She made the disclosure Friday during the swearing in ceremony held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government College, Kaduna.
According to her, the corps members began arriving at the camp on Wednesday, April 23, and have demonstrated discipline and enthusiasm for camp activities.
In her address, Hajiya Dazala encouraged them to fully engage in all camp activities such as drills, lectures, and the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, describing the orientation period as “a transformative journey of national service.”
“You are here not by accident. Your posting to Kaduna is a divine opportunity. Embrace it with discipline, hard work and teamwork,” she said.
In his keynote address, the Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, welcomed the corps members to the state and congratulated them on the successful completion of their academic programmes.
He said the NYSC was a vital platform for grooming responsible citizens and future leaders, stressing the importance of security, entrepreneurship and national unity.
“The Orientation Course is designed to equip you with leadership skills and inspire you to become agents of change in your host communities,” he said.
He further encouraged the corps members to take full advantage of the SAED programme to build entrepreneurial skills that would empower them beyond the service year.
The governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the safety of all corps members, urging them to remain security-conscious and report any suspicious activity to relevant authorities.
“I declare the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course open and wish you a rewarding and enriching experience,” he said.
