Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state on Thursday said his administration would continue to engage the services of the ex-servicemen in the state for effective service delivery.
He stated this during the Armed forces remembrance and emblem appeal in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.
Sule who donated five million naira to the legion, urged ministries and agencies in the state to engage the services of ex-servicemen in areas of effective delivery.
“I urged all government Ministries and agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations to patronize the services of members of the Nigerian Legion by engaging them in productive ventures.
“On our part, I assure you all that government will continue to provide for the welfare of members of the Legion within available resources, he said.
He commended the members of Nigeria Legion for their steadfastness, perseverance, self-discipline and partnership with government, urging them to sustain their support for the policies and programmes of his administration.
He said Nigerians must unite irrespective of their political, tribal social and religious affiliations; hence the need for all hands must be on deck to ensure its success.
“We must unite to fight all divisive forces and tendencies in our communities for the continuous stability, peace and progress of the society”. He said.
